I am doing something unusual tonight...
I am doing something unusual tonight. I am going to be a contestant on the live, blind dating showĀ Sexico City!
Yes, it is true. Rather than going on a 1:1 date like a normal person, I am about to step out onto a stage, blindfolded in front of an audience of up to 100 people in the teatrerĆa. There, Iām going to spill the details of both my sexual preferences and what Iām looking for in a partner. (My blind date, Iāve been told, is male). Did I mention that some of my family friends will also be there to support me? This is about to get hot and awkward.
Luckily, I am no stranger to Sexico City. Iāve been twice and am a huge fan of the hosts,Ā MarkoĀ andĀ Carmina. The last time I went to the show, I even got up on stage (see the photo above). Can you see the pure joy on my face? Thatās because I had just won the butt plug giveaway, after I was the only person in the whole audience to heckle why and how I would use it (in Spanish).
āĀ”Voy a usarlo sola en mi casa, despuĆ©s de un dĆa de trabajo muy largo y difĆcil!ā
āIām going to use it alone in my house after a really long and difficult day at work!ā
It worked. I won a beautiful, small toy from my friendĀ FanniāsĀ company,Ā Mystra. Hereās a cute TikTok I made of me going to the show and winning said butt plug, so you can get a sense of the vibes to come.
Unfortunately, most of you donāt live in Mexico City, so you wonāt be able to come see it live. But my paid subscribers can still help me prepare for the show! Here are some of the questions I answered as part of my application that I think theyāll ask me tomorrowā¦
1. Why did you want to be a contestant on Sexico City?
Iām looking to meet someone! Iām in a 12-step fellowship for internet addiction, so I donāt use dating apps as part of my internet sobriety. I want to be on the show so I can meet someone I like and take it from there!
2. What are you looking for?
Iām looking for someone I can cuddle with on a Sunday afternoon. Iām a writer and a tech consultant, so I have two full-time jobs. Iām super independent, but sometimes, on the weekend especially, it would be great to have a little cuddle. I would love to start with something casual and see where things go.
3. What kind of partner would be best for you?
Iām from London, have lived in the United States, and now live in Mexico. I need someone who can keep up with me and who can travel when we need to. I also went to business school. Iām passionate about writing and am pretty ambitious, so someone who is also creative and ambitious would work well for me. Intelligence is probably the most essential quality in a partner for me.
4. What are some of your best qualities?
Iām very independent. I love learning and intellectual discussions, and I speak fluent Spanish. Iām very social and love visiting art museums, house museums, etc. Iām also a ānaturalā girl. I donāt have any tattoos, and I donāt shave or own a razor. What you see is what you get! Though I live in a nice neighborhood, I donāt like being flashy or spending a lot of money on clothes or makeup.
5. What are some of your worst qualities?
Probably that Iām a workaholic. Iām also quite avoidant in my attachment style. I would also say Iām not great at communicating my needs or emotions, but Iāve been learning that since reading Non-Violent Communication. I also write about my sex life publicly on the internet and will continue to do so because thatās important to me. So that might be a dealbreaker for many men, though I keep all my partners anonymous.
6. What are some of your red flags?
I find it annoying when men are late or say we will spend time together on a specific day and then never follow up. This has been hard for me culturally with Mexican men, though Iāve dated quite a few Mexicans since I got here. My other red flags would be a guy with a giant ego, narcissists, or being too into his looks. I like men with hair (sorry for men with receding hairlines; itās just not for me). You donāt have to be taller than me, though. Height isnāt such a big deal.
7. What are some of your green flags?
A man who is a feminist. Hot tattoos, a beard, or just being a vaguely weird dude. I like weird dudes. Also, having sisters, I think, is great, as itās a signal that this guy was raised in the company of women and probably respects women more because of that.
8. What is your love language?
Acts of service! The modern world is hard and taxing. I love a man who can cook me breakfast, pick me up from the airport, and fetch me a glass of water now and then.
9. How sexually adventurous are you?
I put myself as a 5/10, but really, Iāve tried a bunch of kinky shit with my previous partners. Butt stuff? Pegging? Iāve seen plenty of weird and wonderful things in my day and even written about them publicly on the internet. Iāve been to sex parties in New York, but itās not really my thing, and neither is the BDSM scene. Iād rather get freaky with my partner on our own.
10. What questions do you have for said guy?
From him, Iād love to know:
What are your favorite techniques for pleasuring a woman? (See How to Achieve Orgasm Equality if youāve forgotten. Very important question.)
Whatās your love language?
What do you love to do, or what are you passionate about?
If I met your ex-girlfriends, what would they warn me about you?
How would you feel about dating a woman who is smarter, richer, and more successful than you?
Have you ever taken the BDSM test? If so, what kind of sexual deviant are you?
So. what other questions do you think I should prepare to answer?
Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a love-filled weekend!
Hugs,
Tash š
