New year, new intro, new updates
Hello Wonderful Readers,
Welcome back to my corner of the internet! I’ve had several new subscribers join recently, so I figured I should reintroduce myself and get you up to speed on Misseducated updates. I’m feeling a lot of anxiety writing this on a Sunday, as opposed to the usual Friday, but I will explain!
Who are you, again?
I’m a writer based in Mexico City, and I’m originally from London, England. I’m the author of the cumming-of-age, teen romance novel These Perfectly Careless Things, and I’m working on a second novel, a summer teen romance story set in California.
My mission for Misseducated is to help the world be shamelessly sexy. My principal values are boldness, creativity, and curiosity. I’m grateful to my storytelling and branding coach, Robin Fisher Roffer, for helping me come up with all this! It’s already inspiring me for the year ahead.
I’m pretty early in my writing career, and as I mentioned in my last email of the year, one of my goals in 2025 is to become a full-time writer. I love talking about sexuality, relationships, self-love, living life in a way that is true to you, and, of course, challenging the imperfect rules of our society created by others so that we can experience all the beauty that life has to offer in a guilt-free way.

How is Misseducated evolving?
I promised myself in August 2023 that I would publish on this Substack every Friday. I’ve done that for over a year and a half. Thank you to many of you who have stuck with me. It’s been so much fun, and it usually involves me sitting down at my desk with a cup of cold coffee and a plate of papaya on Friday mornings to get to work.
However, I continue to struggle with one major thing: planning what to write. I want to write high-quality work for you, yet I often sit down on Friday mornings with absolutely no plan. Then I throw together a story about my recent love life, hoping that people will like it, and then I breathe again until the next week when the same thing happens all over again. Publishing on a strict schedule every Friday has served its purpose for me, helping me prove to myself that I can write consistently. But it’s no longer serving my mental health or the quality of my work.
I’ve wanted to take time to write higher-quality pieces that are more shareable for a while now. I hope that you, as my readers, understand that I’m doing this in service of better writing and that you value thoughtful, well-crafted content more than strict adherence to a schedule. I just wanted to check with you that my writing world won’t end if I don’t publish every Friday on time perfectly!
What’s the plan for Misseducated in 2025?
From now on, I will focus on writing higher-quality articles that take a bit longer and solve problems for people. My work will be more in the style of my fan-favorite articles, such as “What Is It Like to Orgasm on Psilocybin” and “How to Host a Naked Party.” And the plan, obviously, is to start planning more of my articles.
Before deciding to do this, I’ve been stuck in a weird cycle for a while. I want to grow my readership, but that makes it hard to cater content for my paid subscribers behind the paywall. For now, I’ve concluded that I want as many people to be able to access my articles as possible, so these practical articles will always be free for you to read and share.
Will you still write about your love life?
Yes, but in a slightly different way than I’ve been doing. Just like how I wrote “How to Achieve Orgasm Equality,” I am happiest in my writing when I can draw on examples from my love life in order to demonstrate another point I’m making, rather than making the whole story a spicy update about me.
My favorite type of writing is examining a social statistic or a problem and then providing honest anecdotes from my experience as a female to put it in context and make it come to life. So, you can still read spicy details about my love life, but these will be anecdotes woven into more practical pieces.
When can I expect Misseducated emails?
You can still expect Misseducated emails on Fridays, but not every Friday. If I have two higher-quality articles in one week, I might send one on Tuesday in addition to Friday. And yes, my slight obsession with flexible schedules means they could come on a rare Saturday instead. Thank you for bearing with me!

I know; I’m honestly so sorry about that! I was going to share the story of how I reunited with Todor this week, and I feel so guilty about not doing that. The reality is that Todor and I parted ways fairly recently, and as much as I like to share the juicy details, it’s currently quite painful for me to keep digging up my memories with him. I am sorry for leaving you hanging. I hope that my upcoming articles will make up for it. Please forgive me!
What else are you doing in 2025?
In addition to selling 1,000 copies of my novel, I’m also trying to get some paid speaking gigs. That could involve me teaching at a sex writing workshop or working with women. Let me know if you have any leads!
Right now, my writing journey is also feeling a lot like a metaphor for being shameless – I’m figuring out and choosing what’s best for me, even when that means challenging my own internalized rule about a strict Friday publishing schedule that I made up, lol.
